Tenaris guarantees steels able to satisfy the strictes safety requirements.
THE RIGHT gas capacity in a lightweight vessel
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) used as fuel for Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) burns in a cleaner way than gasoline and is also less expensive, hence the increase in its use in countries around the world. National governments and regional authorities are also actively promoting its use as it contributes to reducing pollution in overcrowded cities.
NGV cylinder applications require steels able to satisfy the strictest safety requirements and offer the right gas capacity in a lightweight structure.

Steel Grades and Dimensional Range
For this application, our seamless chrome-molybdenum (e.g., 34CrMo4, SAE 4130X, etc.) and carbon-manganese steel tubes are supplied in hot-rolled condition, in a wide range of sizes with outer diameters ranging from 165 mm to 406 mm. They are characterized by high steel cleanliness, restricted chemical composition band, tight dimensional tolerances and controlled surface quality, in order to ensure the best performances as part of our customers' manufacturing processes.
Safety Standards
Using Tenaris seamless tubes, our customers are able to manufacture gas cylinders according to the most important international standards such as ISO 11439, ECE R-110, NGV-II, etc.
