Tenaris manufactures tubes with tight dimensional tolerances and controlled surface quality.
Steels able to work in completely safe conditions
Compressed gases such as oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, helium, air etc. are frequently used by industry for a wide variety of applications. Using high-pressure cylinders means they can be stored and transported safely all over the world. High pressures, rough handling and extreme temperatures require high-performance steel able to guarantee complete safety over long periods.

Steel Grades and Dimensional Range
For this application, our seamless chrome-molybdenum (e.g., 34CrMo4, SAE 4130X, etc.) and carbon-manganese steel tubes are supplied in hot-rolled condition, in a wide range of sizes with outer diameters ranging from 108 mm to 273 mm. They are characterized by high steel cleanliness, restricted chemical composition band, tight dimensional tolerances and controlled surface quality, in order to ensure the best performances as part of our customers' manufacturing processes.
Safety Standards
Using Tenaris seamless tubes, our customers are able to manufacture gas cylinders according to the most important international standards such as ISO 9809, EN 1964, DOT 3AA, DOT 3AAX, etc.
